8 Nations, 2 Groups, the 1st Nation from each Group will qualify for the 9th Place Match, the 2nd Nation from each Group will qualify for the 11th Place Match, the 3rd Nation from each Group will qualify for the 13th Place Match, the 4th Nation from each Group will qualify for the 15th Place Match

16 Nations, Placement Matches, Semifinals, Bronze Medal Match and Gold Medal Match, the winning Nation will be the Men's Handball CAHB African Championship 2020 Champion

The 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th not already qualified Nations will qualify for the Men's Handball IHF World Championship 2021.
